A fire at Whitney Mesa Park early Wednesday morning resulted in the death of one person and forced the evacuation of approximately 50 residents from their homes. The blaze, which ignited around 4:30 a.m., scorched three acres of the park, leaving charred palm trees and a trail of ash in its wake. The Henderson Fire Department discovered a deceased individual after searching the area.
