Peter Noone, born in Manchester in 1947, rose to fame in the mid-1960s with Herman’s Hermits during the British Invasion. Circa 1965, while balancing touring and studies, he met Mireille Strasser, a French student. Their romance grew, and on November 5, 1968—Noone’s 21st birthday—they wed in London. Settling in California, they welcomed daughter Natalie, later a performer. After Herman’s Hermits disbanded in 1971, Noone pursued a solo career, scoring with David Bowie’s Oh! You Pretty Things. In
