In case you missed it… 👀🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland’s oldest tartan has been discovered by The Scottish Tartans Authority and will be on display in our latest exhibition, opening on Saturday. Peter MacDonald from The Scottish Tartans Authority tells us more. The Glen Affric tartan can be dated back to around 1500-1600, making it the oldest known surviving specimen of true tartan in Scotland, and the oldest of the 300 objects that feature in the exhibition.
