🌟🐉 Have you ever seen a frill-necked lizard (𝘊𝘩𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘺𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘴 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘪) before? This incredible creature was recently spotted at the Bowali Visitor Centre! Frill-necked lizards are known as kurndamen in Kundjeyhmi, one of the traditional languages spoken in Kakadu National Park. This kurndamen is a true gem of nature. 🦎✨ | Kakadu National Park

Our ranger team at East Alligator and Office of the Chief Remote Pilot were out detecting crocodiles and mapping the river bed at Cahills Crossing with a small boat and sonar when things took an unexpected turn... a few curious crocodiles started following it around!🐊 We think the sound and vibrations from the motor and propellers caught their attention, but we've never seen behaviour quite like this before!
