Norfolk & Western No. 620 was built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in 1958. It is a 1,750 horsepower GP9 that was used in freight service on the N&W. It was donated to the museum in 1985 in the railroad’s simplified black and white “NW” paint scheme. The locomotive was repainted by the museum in 1986 in Tuscan Red paint to match Norfolk & Western’s passenger locomotives for use on the museum passenger train.
