In December 2021 we attended one of the worst livestock auctions in the Northeast in the hopes of saving a few lives. As we were walking through the holding pens we saw a tiny, skinny white goat being trampled in a pen packed full of much larger goats. The holding pen was completely full of feces and urine and she couldn’t get up out of it. We reached in and pulled her up in a corner so she could get her bearings and knew we weren’t leaving without her that day. Harriet arrived at the sanctuary
