Australia’s Uluru, formerly known as Ayers Rock, closed to climbers
It was the end of an era for Australia's iconic Uluru on Friday as tourists were allowed onto the rock for the last time. The sandstone monolith, formerly known as Ayer's Rock, will now be closed to climbers out of respect to indigenous Australians who regard the site as sacred.
