The Flxible Co. (pronounced " flexible ") was an American manufacturer of motorcycle sidecars, funeral cars, ambulances, intercity coaches and transit buses, based in the U.S. state of Ohio. It was founded in 1913 and closed in 1996.

Young founded and became the first president of the Flxible Company. Young’s patent was also the fore-runner of the principle which is now known as knee-action in automobiles. In 1913, Young founded the Flxible Side Car Company in Loudonville, Ohio to manufacture his patented vehicle.

Oct 21, 2022 · The Flxible company (one ‘e’ short of Flexible to coin a patentable trademark) made this generation of Clipper bus from 1946 until 1967. This 1948 Flxible Clipper hails from a location near Londonderry, New Hampshire.

Flxible was sold to Grumman Corporation in 1978 for $55 million and became known as Grumman Flxible. Grumman Allied Industries, as subsidiary of Grumman Corporation, had produced aluminum truck bodies, fire trucks, and a small bus by this time.

A joint venture formed in 1992 by GAC/Flxible and the People's Republic of China, the China Flxible Automotive Co. Ltd., is located in the city of Changzhou, Jiangsu Province and produces 3,000 buses annually for the Chinese market and another 500 to 2,000 for export to other Asia-Pacific markets.
