Purdy will take $50+ million. That’s a $5-10 million discount. Maybe the 49ers shouldn’t have wasted cap money on the divas that are on the roster.

Aug 10, 2022 · If you pay Brock $50-55M, that’s 18-20% of the cap. On a team that already has a handful of bad contracts. I love Brock, but if I’m the 9ers, I don’t pay him that. I would potentially try to offer a higher deal that is severely backloaded, but even then, I probably would hold off on extending him one more year.

And people think that Purdy should not be paid so the 49ers can overpay a guy like Deebo who can not catch a perfect pass for an easy TD. Aug 10, 2022 · Purdy has the 9ers by the short hairs and his agent knows it. Too big a gamble to not sign him to an extension, just how big is the question. If I were them, I would start at 3 years $100 million and see if he jumps. At that price point Purdy, who turns 25 in a couple of weeks, would still only be 29 years of age to sign his next deal.

His second contract should look like what Tua, Trevor, and Love got in the last few years: 50M-55M AAV over 4-7 years with at a minimum 50% of the contract guaranteed.
