Federal immigration agents who descended onto the Coast Guard Island in Alameda this week have been called off for the entire Bay Area, and not just San Francisco, officials said Friday afternoon.

The Trump administration is sending federal agents to San Francisco following weeks of threats from the president to deploy the National Guard to the Bay Area.

It was unclear whether the rest of the Bay Area would also be free from federal enforcement efforts, as was promised for San Francisco.
