Did Red Sox actually make the right call on Mookie Betts?
The Mookie Betts trade has always been looked at like a Babe Ruth-sized error for the Red Sox. Yet ... it starting to make sense now?
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ superstar shortstop had a clear response on how his current team differs from the Boston Red Sox.
Former Red Sox MVP and Dodgers star Mookie Betts was named the 2025 Roberto Clemente Award winner. The award recognizes “the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions on and off the field.” Betts is the founder of the 5050 Foundation.
Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora sent a personal message to the former franchise star as the Los Angeles Dodgers thrive.
Betts this year became the first player in big league history to start at least 140 games at short in his age-32 season (or later) after making fewer than 100 appearances at the position prior.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are aiming for a second consecutive World Series title and they will be relying on one of their MVPs, Mookie Betts, to lead the team to the remarkable feat.
Alex Bregman seems like the type of guy who would publicly discuss hating the Yankees, too. But right now we’re not sure whether he’s ever going to play for the Red Sox again. One report, though, says that the team is “hopeful” that they’ll re-sign the All-Star third baseman. (Jon Heyman, New York Post)
