According to a social media post on the royal family's official Instagram, King Charles and Queen Camilla's visit includes a visit to the Papal Basilica and a reception at the Pontifical Beda College, a seminary that trains priests from across the Commonwealth.
King Charles III makes history with Pope Leo XIV in groundbreaking Vatican visit, marking first royal-papal prayer since English Reformation 500 years ago.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are in Vatican City for a historic two-day State Visit. The visit is postponed from April, when during their State Visit to Italy, they made a personal trip to Vatican City to visit an ailing Pope Francis, with whom they met briefly a few weeks before his death.
The trip, designed to showcase the unity between Catholics and Anglicans, is being hailed as a “significant moment” in healing the divisions between the Holy See and the British monarchy, dating all the way back to 1534 when King Henry VIII created the Church of England as he sought a divorce from Katherine of Aragon.
