The movie might also create a new movie star in the young Damson Idris, who says Pitt has been incredibly encouraging. Damson Idris will be a much bigger name following the release of F1, and he’s likely going to have to deal with fame to a much more significant degree than previously.

"It felt like flying," Idris says of zooming up to 180 miles per hour on the race track with "F1" costar — and fan — Brad Pitt, who helped him master the race cars' tricky clutch.

"I always say [Brad is] the most humble person and such a brilliant actor, and he wants you to win," Idris added. "And he did that for me the entire movie — made a point of having the two characters be equals — so I'm incredibly indebted to him, and I can't wait people to see it."
