Both teams have put on a power display during the first two games of the weekend series between the Cincinnati Reds and the host Detroit Tigers. Detroit blasted four home runs in an 11-5 romp during the series opener on Friday.

Tyler Stephenson blasted a grand slam, Brady Singer tossed six strong innings and the visiting Cincinnati Reds powered past the Detroit Tigers, 11-1, on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds did tack on three too-little, too-late runs in the ninth when De La Cruz doubled home Santiago Espinal to make it 11-3, then Tyler Stephenson doubled in two more runs to make it 11-5. De La Cruz was 3-for-4, raising his average to .267.

CINCINNATI -- For the second straight game, Reds pitching allowed 11 runs. Friday night, those 11 runs came from the Detroit Tigers, who beat the Reds 11-5 in the first of a three-game series. It was a close game through 5 1/2 innings, but the Tigers scored eight runs in their final three innings at the plate to break the game open.

Cincinnati Reds ace Hunter Greene was still in Los Angeles Friday night, pending one more meeting with specialists before returning to Cincinnati.
