The Spanish soccer federation says midfielder Aitana Bonmatí has left the hospital and is expected to rejoin the Spain squad in the next few days to try to play in the Women’s European Championship.

Spanish soccer star Aitana Bonmatí has been hospitalized with viral meningitis just days before the start of the Women’s Euros on Wednesday, her manager Montse Tomé said.

Spain striker Aitana Bonmatí has been discharged from hospital after recovering from viral meningitis and will re-join the squad in the coming days.
