Clayton Kershaw can earn up to $16 million in his one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, getting the full amount if he makes 16 starts and is on the active roster for at least 90 days

In a long-expected move, Kershaw agreed to return to the Dodgers for an 18th season, according to ESPN. The contract is pending a physical for Kershaw, who missed the final month of the 2024 regular season and all of the Dodgers’ World Series run with a ruptured plantar plate and arthritis in his left foot.

The 36-year-old southpaw expects to go on the 60-day injured list following offseason foot and knee surgery, but hopes to be close to ready when eligible to be activated.
