Nate Bargatze opened his time on "College GameDay" by urging five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, a Nashville Christian senior star, to flip from Georgia to Vanderbilt. And Bargatze ended it by emphatically picking Vanderbilt to beat Missouri on Oct. 25 in a key SEC football game with College Football Playoff implications.

When Diego Pavia took the podium after Vanderbilt football's win over Missouri, his message was clear. "The only reason I'm up here is because I play quarterback for the team," the Commodores quarterback said.

Six seconds left, Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea called his defense back over to the sidelines one final time for a timeout. It was third down and 17 yards to go for the Missouri offense. But in reality, it was really the final play of the game. It might as well have been 4th and 37.

The QB was carted off after being stuffed on fourth-and-goal in the third quarter. Pribula was pushed backward as a Vanderbilt player clung to his left leg, causing an apparent injury that put him in an air cast shortly after.

Diego Pavia dove across the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown with 1:52 left as No. 10 Vanderbilt beat 15th-ranked Missouri 17-10 Saturday to extend the Commodores' best start in more than 80 years.

When asked if he believes that he deserves to win the Heisman Trophy after a win over Missouri, Vanderbilt football quarterback Diego Pavia said, "Hell yeah, I believe it." Pavia did not elaborate further on his case to win the award, instead giving credit to teammates, including the offensive line and the defense.

Before the SEC begins its nine-game conference schedule next season to match others across the Power Five, the league could be laughing all the way to the bank with a record number of College Football Playoff appearances at the end of the 2025 campaign.

Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula dislocated his left ankle and will have an MRI exam Sunday, coach Eli Drinkwitz said Saturday after the 15th-ranked Tigers’ 17-10 loss to No. 10 Vanderbilt. Drinkwitz said Pribula didn't have any broken bones but needed his ankle popped back into joint.

Vanderbilt student Tyler Hwang won $500,000 on ESPN’s “College GameDay” on Saturday morning by making a 33-yard field goal during host Pat McAfee’s weekly kicking contest. McAfee also donated another $250,000 to charity, bringing the successful kick’s total to $750,000.

In 2024, Sedrick Alexander ran for two touchdowns, Randon Fontenette scored on a pick-six and Diego Pavia outplayed Heisman Trophy candidate Jalen Milroe as Vanderbilt stunned Alabama 40-35 for the Commodores’ first win over the nation’s top-ranked team.

Not only did this Vanderbilt student, Tyler, absolutely drill his kick, but he also won a whopping $500,000, plus $250,000 for charity, from Pat McAfee and celebrated in spectacular fashion, running around in his Diego Pavia jersey, screaming with his fellow students and mimicking a perfect golf shot.

Vanderbilt’s defense might not look like anything special on paper.   Entering Saturday, defensive coordinator Steve Gregory’s unit ranked bottom-fo
