A demonstration near the home of a man suspected in a string of cat killings in Santa Ana resulted in vandalism. Police urge residents to remain calm.

Around 100 people gathered Sunday night, April 27, to protest a man who is out on bail after he was arrested on suspicion of hurting and killing more than a dozen cats in a Santa Ana neighborhood, police said.

The Santa Ana Police Department announced the arrest of Alejandro Oliveros Acosta, 45, on Wednesday after investigating multiple reports of neighborhood cat abuse and deaths over several weeks.
