CAPCOM has announced a new installment of the 'Resident Evil' franchise titled 'Resident Evil Requiem' at Summer Game Fest 2025. According to Game Spot, the premier trailer of 'Requiem' depicts a dark and desolate ambiance, indicating that players will return to Raccoon City, the main backdrop in several early 'Resident Evil' games.

Resident Evil Requiem looks like a pretty great game, but it’ll never live up to the franchise’s greatest hits because it tries too hard to be them.

Modern-day RE has transcended its zombie game origins, so it will be a shame if Resident Evil Requiem backslides towards that undead cliche.
