President Donald Trump signed a sweeping executive order Monday morning that promises to crack down on “unreasonable or discriminatory” practices by foreign countries that result in Americans paying far higher costs for prescription drugs.

Trump's executive order sets a deadline for drugmakers to lower the cost of prescription drugs in the U.S. or face new limits on what the government will pay.

The new pricing policy seeks to reduce the cost the government pays for medications to those comparable to what other countries pay.
