ALLEN PARK, Mich. — Brad Holmes had Georgia on his mind during the NFL draft. The Detroit Lions' general manager chose three Georgia Bulldogs among his seven picks — guard Tate Ratledge, safety Dan Jackson and wide receiver Dominic Lovett.

The Detroit Lions used a sixth-round pick on Boise State DE Ahmed Hassanein but still need another starting-caliber pass rusher.

The Lions took Williams in Round 1 and believe he can be a three-down defender, but passed on — or didn't go up to get — a handful of imperfect but well-regarded edge players such as Mike Green, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Nic Scourton, Landon Jackson, Olu Oladejo and Josaiah Stewart on Day 2.
