Jaire Alexander has found his new home in the NFL. After recently being released by the Green Bay Packers, the veteran cornerback inked a deal with the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced Wednesday.

While things are typically quiet at this point in the NFL offseason, player movement doesn't end with the draft in April. A significant, albeit slower, wave of free agency unfolds after the draft and can yield some significant additions.

Lamar Jackson spoke it into existence. And the signing of Jaire Alexander could help spark a Lamar Jackson extension. At a minimum, it can't hurt the Ravens' effort to get a deal done. In 2023, Baltimore's decision to give receiver Odell Beckham $15 million in full guarantees on a one-year deal absolutely helped mend fences with Jackson — and ultimately to get him signed.
