Israel's attack on Iran scrambled air travel, with United and Delta flights to Tel Aviv turning around midway and other airlines canceling flights.

Emirates has canceled flights to Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Iran, affecting routes to Amman, Baghdad, Basra, Beirut and Tehran, while Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended service to Iran, Iraq and Syria. Etihad Airways and Turkish Airlines have also diverted some flights to Baku, and Lufthansa Group has suspended all flights to and from Tehran.

Airlines steered clear of much of the Middle East on Friday after Israeli attacks on Iranian sites forced carriers to cancel or divert thousands of flights in the latest upheaval to travel in the region.
