Several times over the course of his press conference on Tuesday, U.S. men’s national team coach Mauricio Pochettino invoked the idea of “trust” to describe his selection process for the team that will compete for a fourth consecutive Concacaf Nations League trophy next week.

Mauricio Pochettino has named his 23-man U.S. men's national team roster for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League Finals. The roster contains many of the usual suspects that will be key figures, including Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Chris Richards and Tyler Adams. On the edges of the squad, however, there were some real surprises.
