Marjorie Taylor Greene is speaking her mind, and House Speaker Mike Johnson is in direct line of her firing. The congresswoman took to social media to criticize her own colleagues about how they are handling the healthcare crisis.
Speaker Mike Johnson and House GOP leaders will speak with reporters Wednesday morning as the federal shutdown entered its 22nd day, marking the second-longest lapse in government funding in U.S.
However, since even before the shutdown began, the Trump administration has repeatedly responded to Democrats’ calls for healthcare subsidies to be extended by accusing them of wanting to give health care to undocumented immigrants who already do not qualify for federal programs.
In a Thursday interview with Axios, she took aim at Johnson over his refusal to answer questions about Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), who has been hit with a restraining order after a former girlfriend, Lindsay Langston, accused him of threatening to release sexually explicit photos of her following their split.
The House speaker has refused to swear in newly elected congresswoman Adelita Grijalva, who would be the deciding vote on a petition to release the files.
