Syracuse breathed extra life into its Atlantic Coast Conference tournament hopes with a win over NC State this week and looks to keep those chances alive Saturday when it visits

North Carolina, perched on the NCAA tournament bubble after five straight wins, has a road game against Virginia Tech before the Tar Heels’ Senior Night game against Duke.

Syracuse, N.Y. ― On Saturday, the Syracuse Orange had two paths to locking up a spot in the ACC tournament. Syracuse could do it the easy way with a win at Virginia Tech; or the Orange could ensure its place in the conference tournament bracket with losses from both NC State and Boston College.

Syracuse, N.Y. ― Although both Syracuse and Virginia Tech are in the bottom half of the ACC standings, the Orange and Hokies will meet on Saturday in a game with plenty of ACC tournament implications.

It was a matinee day at Cassell Coliseum. Syracuse played Virginia Tech at noon on a nice spring day here. Elijah Moore, the Syracuse freshman, warmed up before the game; he’d been out with a toe injury since the North Carolina game on Feb.
