After Groundhog Day and Valentine's Day pass next month, certain Floridians will celebrate Presidents Day. Here's what will be open and closed

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - A Hillsborough County woman is suing Publix Supermarkets, Inc., alleging that the grocery chain’s negligence led to a slip-and-fall accident that resulted in significant personal injuries.

Shopping at Publix really is a pleasure, according to a consumer satisfaction report. Trader Joe’s also tied for first place, with a score of 84, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index Retail and Consumer Shipping Study 2025.

Expected opening date is mid-July 2026. Adjacent to the grocery store will be a Publix Liquors. Two other retail spaces are available in the plaza, which is called Viera Promenade. Brevard’s 27 th Publix will have a few other grocery stores in close proximity.

Crews are on the scene of a vehicle fire at Colonial Crossings in Fort Myers. Fire crews responded to the scene near Summerlin Road around 10:15 a.m. NBC2 crews on the scene said the vehicle caught fire near the Publix. Pictures from the scene show what appears to be a U.S. Postal Service van on fire.
