After the city installed 650 new LED lights in May designed to save money, several neighbors complained about them, so Davis city leaders will spend $350,000 to replace the lights.

Metro plans to replace streetlights with LED lighting LED lighting is expected to save the city $20 million in energy costs over a 10-year period, according to Metro officials.

Cities can speed up the conversion process or choose to replace city-owned street lights with LED lights at the cost of $100 per fixture.

The process will see workers replace the street lighting heads and lamps on a one-to-one basis with equivalent LED products. The streetlamps style and poles will not be replaced in most instances.
