AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Xcel Energy wants to raise the average residential monthly bill in Texas by about $2.65. The company asked regulators on Monday to approve the increase to pay for construction it has done to improve the transmission system it uses to move power over long distances.

According to the company's outage map, 82 outages are affecting 6,893 customers across the metro as of 10:58 p.m. on Monday.

Xcel Energy's customers in Minnesota could soon share in millions of dollars in refunds. Xcel officials are proposing returning $318 million to customers in the state.
