Just after sunset, six of the seven planets will be visible to the Philadelphia area this week. It won't be visible again until 2040.

Several planets will be visible this week but clouds will be the usual concern in Southeast Michigan, looking at weather data

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will all be visible in the night sky this Friday for a short window of time.

With patience, clear skies, and a little telescope you can see all seven planets in the sky. If you don’t have a telescope, you can still see the other five. And even if you lack clear skies, you'll still get to see Venus, Jupiter, and Mars at the very least.

"A fantastic, yet challenging photographic opportunity to observe all planets during a small window in time," Dury told Space.com in an email.

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus could all be visible with clear skies, but not all can be seen by the naked eye, according to Space.com.
