Blue Jays, George Springer

George Springer sent a sinker just over the left field wall to lead the Toronto Blue Jays past the Seattle Mariners and to their first World Series in 32 years.
Springer's go-ahead home run will stand as one of the biggest in Jays history, a Joe Carter-like landmark for a new generation of fans.
TORONTO – More than three decades after Joe Carter touched them all, George Springer gave the Toronto Blue Jays another home run for the ages, vaulting them into the World Series for the first time since they won their second consecutive championship in 1993.
The former World Series MVP celebrated his big moment with family after defeating the Seattle Mariners in the ALCS.
The Blue Jays slotted Springer in as their designated hitter in the leadoff spot for Sunday’s game and it seems likely he will remain out of a defensive role for Game 7 on Monday as well. He went 0-4 for a strikeout and a walk on Sunday, but his presence might have provided a spark for the Blue Jays hitters, who posted six runs in the win.
