End-to-end encryption is still guaranteed, and Meta also said that if users only use the app to call or message their contacts, there will be “no change to [the] experience at all,” though for many, this promise simply isn’t enough.

Meta has said the company bans "non-consensual intimate imagery" on its platforms. The company previously told CBS News that it has removed ads for nudify technology, deleted pages on its platforms that run the spots and permanently blocked websites associated with the apps.

The Meta AI app launched in April, and users are inadvertently sharing embarrassing, private questions to the Discover feed because of poor design choices by Meta that have still not been fixed.

For now, it’s advisable, if you’re going to use the Meta AI app, to go to your settings (or your parents’ settings) and make all of your public prompts visible only to you. To do that, pull open the Meta AI app and: Tap your profile icon at the top right.
