A Georgia deputy is out of a job after a K-9 officer died in a hot patrol car, authorities say. In a statement, the Dade County Sheriff’s Office mourned the loss of K-9 Georgia, one of the department’s newest police dogs.

The dog, named Georgia, was found dead on July 13 inside the vehicle's kennel while her handler had gone to the sheriff's office, authorities said.

On July 13th, the Dade County Sheriff’s Office lost the newest member of their K-9 team. According to a Facebook post, K-9 Georgia, was in her patrol car kennel while her handler was inside the sheriff’s office in Trenton.
