Hurricane Erin weakened slightly on Sunday during an eyewall replacement cycle but will grow larger and stir up surf along the U.S. east coast.
Erin has been upgraded to the first hurricane of the 2025 season in the Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center. As of the 11 a.m. advisory, Erin was located about 460 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands and had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph with a minimum central pressure of 996 mb.
