Thousands of Austin Energy customers are currently without power. Austin Energy says that its crews are working 24/7 to resolve the outages and restore power. Austin Energy says the outages are being caused by extremely high winds sweeping through the area.

Over 31,000 people are without power as a result of more than 140 active outages at 4 p.m., according to the Austin Energy outage map. The map also says there are 68 hazards in the city at this time as a wind advisory remains in place across the Central Texas region.
