At UFC 321 on Saturday, one of the scariest knockouts in UFC history was scored, and it left lightweight contender Nasrat Haqparast unconscious for minutes. This past Saturday, the premier promotion returned to Abu Dhabi for UFC 321 with a title fight double header atop the card.
In the main event of DBX 4 at The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tenn., Steveson stepped through the ropes for the first time in a combat sport without the ability to use takedowns. With only his fists and elbows at his disposal, Steveson took on fellow heavyweight Billy Swanson, a Bellator and PFL veteran.
History was made in multiple ways at UFC Vancouver, but none more significant than Drew Dober breaking Dustin Poirier's knockout record.
Wild celebrations followed the 13-second victory, before Steveson composed himself and sent a message to UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard, who was sitting in the front row at DBX4. “I think a special guest was here to come watch me,” Steveson said.
