TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Sam Lewis scored 23 points to help Toledo defeat Northern Illinois 89-85 on Saturday. Lewis also contributed seven rebounds for the Rockets (13-8, 7-2 Mid-American Conference).

Toledo needs a win at home against Ohio to keep its hopes alive of making a third straight MAC Championship appearance. The last time Ohio and Toledo played was in the 2022 MAC Championship.
