Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said Tyrese Haliburton insisted on playing in the second half of Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday despite dealing with a calf injury.

Haliburton was clearly still working through his leg injury, as Pacers coach Rick Carlisle made clear after the game. But despite the injury, Haliburton was adamant that he was not going to be taken off the floor for the Pacers. Asked why he tried to play through his injury after the game, Haliburton’s answer was short and simple.

Haliburton has been superb during the Pacers’ postseason run, hitting game-winners in Game 1s against to Cavaliers and Thunder while also connecting on the game-tying bucket at the end of regulation during Indiana’s Game 1 win over the Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals.
