Nothing went quite right for the Houston Texans as they narrowly lost to the Denver Broncos after a bunch of self-inflicted mishaps. And lost their starting quarterback, CJ Stroud, to a concussion after he was hit by Broncos CB Kris Abrams-Draine.
At the top of the second quarter, Stroud would go down with a concussion following a scramble, taken down by Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, which would sideline Houston's star quarterback for the remainder of the contest, elevate Davis Mills for the rest of the day, and wound up coming up short 15-18.
Losing to the Raiders would have been a big step back, especially after the Jaguars had leads of 13-9, 20-16 and 30-23. But Las Vegas coach Pete Carroll made the right call in going for the two-point conversion and Jaguars defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton batted down Geno Smith’s pass.
