The latest episode of lava fountaining within Kilauea’s Halemaumau Crater “ended abruptly at 7:41 p.m.” after nearly 9 hours, scientists with the U.S. Geological Survey said. The USGS dropped the Volcano Alert Level from watch to advisory and the Aviation Color Code from red to yellow.
