THORNTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — Residents of Thorntown were asked to evacuate Tuesday following an anhydrous ammonia spill. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said the spill happened in the northwest part of rural Thorntown.

After evacuation orders eased Monday night for thousands of residents in Garden Grove, some residents who have been able to return home say it’s a relief after spending several days in a shelter – while others are still anxiously waiting for their turn to go home.

A Florence neighborhood is under an evacuation order after LAPD officers found a large stash of fireworks during an unrelated search warrant operation.
