Florida ‘slotharium’ shuttered after probe found 31 sloths died in ‘worst conditions possible’
The world’s first “slotharium” was slapped with a stop-work order Thursday after a probe alarmingly found 31 sloths had died in the care of the Florida company prior to its grand opening last month. The warehouse on International Drive where 31 sloths intended for Sloth World Orlando reportedly died was not permitted to have animals or wildlife of any kind, FOX 35 has learned.
Thirty-one sloths planned for a new "slothnarium" in Florida have died before the attraction's planned opening, authorities have found. The mammals were planned to be showcased at a permanent, public exhibit at Sloth World in Orlando, set to open this spring.
