CM Punk's first WWE world title reign in 12 years lasted only five minutes. Punk overcame a fantastic, grueling match with Gunther at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday only for Seth Rollins to spoil the evening.

WWE fans might not see Gunther on their screens for a while after his defeat to CM Punk at SummerSlam. The Ring General lost his World Heavyweight Championship in a gruelling main event on night one of the PLE.

WWE delivered its biggest show of the summer with SummerSlam 2025, starting with a Night 1 that included multiple title changes and surprise celebrity interactions.
