North Dakota is facing growing opposition to two massive dairy operations planned near the Red River. Environmental advocates say the projects could harm water quality locally and in downstream communities - including Lake Winnipeg in Canada.

Some of the guns seized were reported stolen and others were allegedly smuggled into Canada from the U.S., said Winnipeg police.

Winnipeg police have issued a silver alert for a missing senior last seen Wednesday in the northwest area of the city. Pedro Amaya, 79, was last known to be in the McPhillips Street and Inkster Boulevard area around 7:15 p.m.
