J.J. Starling scored 27 points, and Syracuse went 4 for 4 from the free-throw line in the final five seconds to hold on for a 66-62 victory over Florida State in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament on Tuesday at the Spectrum Center.

Each program has won five ACC Tournament titles in Charlotte, with the Blue Devils beating the Tar Heels in the 2019 semifinals before cutting down the nets at Spectrum Center. Duke rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat Georgia Tech in Thursday’s quarterfinals, but the Blue Devils could be without two of their top players against UNC.
