U.S. Senate Republicans are moving forward on President Donald Trump's sweeping tax-cut and spending bill that includes major elements of his domestic agenda.The Senate advanced the bill and is set to consider numerous amendments before final passage.

The Senate Republican tax bill includes the biggest reduction for the federal safety net since at least the 1990s, targeting more than $1 trillion in social spending.

Trump told Republicans, who hold majority power in the House and Senate, to skip their holiday vacations and deliver the bill by the Fourth of July.
