3 killed in shooting at North Austin Target, including 1 child; suspect arrested
Three people, including a child, were killed in a shooting in the parking lot of the Target at 8601 Research Blvd., near Ohlen Road, in North Austin on Monday afternoon. Austin Police Department (APD) Chief Lisa Davis said a call came in around 2:15 p.m. of a shooting at the Target, and officers arrived on the scene shortly after.
Ethan Nieneker, 32, faces charges of capital murder by terror threat, capital murder of a person under 10 years of age and first-degree murder.
Monday's deadly shooting outside a Target store in Austin is the city's third incidence of mass violence this year.
