Even those nowhere near the wildfires are suffering as smoke swirls around Canada and wafts south, creating hazardous air quality all over the midwestern and eastern parts of the United States.

This is the latest in a series of intense wildfire seasons fueled by dry conditions in Canada, resulting in smoky springs and summers in the Midwest.

The pictures shared by Ayers from the International Space Station (ISS) show the extent of the wildfires which has degraded air quality in the US as well. Air quality alerts have been issued in American states of New York, New Jersey, Iowa and New Hampshire due to winds blowing in from Manitoba and Saskatchewan provinces.
