Milwaukee shooting Thursday; 1 wounded near 40th and Wright
MILWAUKEE - A shooting in Milwaukee on Thursday, Oct. 23 left one person wounded. According to police, a 22-year-old was shot around 12:30 a.m. near 40th and Wright. The victim arrived at the hospital for treatment. The circumstances that led up to the shooting are under investigation.
Family says off-duty Milwaukee officer acted appropriately in fatal shooting caught on dashcam video
Elijah Wilks, 26, was fatally shot by an off-duty Milwaukee officer after a traffic incident where dashcam video shows Wilks pointing a firearm at the officer.
The shooting happened on North 19th Street near Norris Park around 7:45 p.m. Oct. 18. The investigation is ongoing, Milwaukee police say.
