A fire at plant in Louisiana continues to burn and an evacuation order within a 1-mile radius of the facility remains in place following an explosion Friday, officials said at a press conference.

Sgt. William Huggins of the Louisiana State Police said that there were several small explosions at the plant as the fire continued burning overnight. He said that was “consistent” with what is burning at the site, though officials still said they could not specify what those materials are.

A fire at Smitty's Supply Inc. in Roseland continued to pump smoke into the air Saturday, the day after an explosion at the facility sent black soot into the air and onto homes, cars and waterways.
